Bluetooth controller utility for emulators
BT Controller is a free game utility app for mobile devices by developer Soft Igloo. This tool allows users to turn their smartphones or tablets into Bluetooth controllers for use with various gaming emulators. It can also work via Wi-Fi connections and lets them create custom layouts for themselves.
Makeshift controller
The BT Controller app makes it possible to turn your smartphone or tablet into a makeshift Bluetooth controller to play games on retro emulators. It works with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections and supports up to four players at a time. To start, tap on the Create Host button and follow the prompts. After that select it from the devices list on the device you want to use it on.
The app also lets customize the button layout to suit your preference and the game you're playing. Alternatively, you can browse through the thousands of user-submitted layouts from the community and find one you like there. A couple of things that need to be fixed are the random disconnections and instances when it would not recognize multi-taps.
Handy but inconsistent
To sum up, if you're a fan of retro gaming on emulators, the BT Controller is a handy app to have around that lets you turn your device into a controller when you need it. It's easy to set up and allows for all kinds of button layouts. Hopefully, the issues mentioned above will be fixed as soon as possible.
